Here is a list of job search groups both in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area and nationwide.


BoomerWorks  Visit Website

BoomerWorks is a 501(c)(3) that inspires professionals age 50+ to re-career into self-employment through educational programs, networking opportunities, career coaching, resources, and community building. They currently host monthly events on Zoom. You can view the upcoming events schedule via their webpage or Meetup. A Registration on Meetup provides a secure and consistent Zoom URL through August 2024, so no need to register more than once. Please note: meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of each month, NOT on the 25th of each month as stated on Zoom registration.

Executive Director Alex Harrington, GCDF, CCSP, a CNM volunteer and guest speaker, established Federal Career Connection. Through Federal Career Connection (FCC), a committed group of public servants, workforce development specialists, hiring managers, teachers, and other community members teamed up to assist those who hope to find their professional calling in public, national, military, or other federal services.

All their offerings are currently accessible through Zoom and Clubhouse. While legally known as the Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group, they serve a global community. Project S.A.V.E. (Staffing Alliance of Virginia Employers) Visit Website

Project S.A.V.E. is a collaborative platform for recruiters, talent acquisition specialists, HR professionals, and employment representatives in the Washington DC area. This open forum facilitates discussions on recruitment best practices, addresses professional concerns, and allows for the exchange of job seekers' resumes. SCORE is a nonprofit organization that is driven to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and educational workshops. Brightpaths' mission is to provide Northern Virginia neighbors in need of short-term safety-net services and empower them to work toward long-term sufficiency. The Financial Empowerment and Workforce Development supports Brightpaths. Their Stability Programs - Food Bridge and Financial Assistance - help individuals and families stay in their homes while they work through a crisis. Through community partnerships they also offer Supports for Children including Food4Thought weekend food packs.
