Meet Cammy Leon: My Tenacious, Unlikely Career Coach 🦎

Updated: 20 hours ago

Imagine this: You’re cruising to the grocery store when a small lizard appears on your windshield, clinging for dear life. 🚗

That’s how I met Cammy Leon, my unshakable (and unexpected) career coach who hitched multiple rides on my car. Cammy became more than just a passenger; he embodied the persistence we all need during a job search. Over 27.7 miles of adventures, Cammy never let go—through sharp turns, sudden stops, and unexpected weather changes.

His memorable journey included:

🛒 An 11.5-mile grocery store adventure

🏡 A 4.4-mile sprint to a friend needing support

✉️ A 1.3-mile dash to the post office

🦷 A 9.2-mile visit to the dentist

Why This Matters for Job Seekers

Job seekers, here’s what we can learn from Cammy:

✨ Persistence pays off. Your journey might take longer than expected, but consistency is key. Whether it’s 1 mile or 11, keep showing up and holding on.

✨ The job search is a wild ride. It’s full of unexpected turns, sudden drops, and moments that leave you clinging on for dear life (just like Cammy!) Every rejection, interview, or follow up teaches you something new about the road ahead. Even if the path feels uncertain, hang tight. Each stop brings you closer to your next opportunity.

Adapt when things get shaky—but never lose your grip. Some stretches are smooth and sunny; others test your resilience with turbulence. Adapt as needed, but stay focused on your destination. Like Cammy, staying grounded will get you through whatever journey throws your way.

Embracing the Adventure Ahead

In the future, I’ll be sharing more of Cammy’s lessons and pairing them with practical, actionable job search advice. Stay tuned—there’s plenty of wisdom (and persistence) to come!

P.S. Cammy reminded me that persistence and adaptability go hand in hand—sometimes, the smartest move is knowing when to pivot.

So, the next time you consider giving up, think of Cammy and the many miles we traveled together. Stay tenacious, and let your journey lead to your dream job!
