PR & Communications Coordinator

Amanda Libby is a communications professional with over three years experience in the nonprofit sector. She brings her skills in external communications to help nonprofits to showcase their specialties and what services they provide. With her knack for organization, Amanda can skillfully juggle a variety of deliverables from writing and designing marketing collateral to managing creative calendars. She ensures contributors stay on track, deadlines are met, and their content is on point.

While working at Georgetown University, Amanda created several communications and marketing pieces to advertise the office’s services to the student body. She adhered to Georgetown’s strict style guide, delivering engaging pieces within tight deadlines. At another nonprofit, Amanda streamlined the communications teams' workflow by designing a robust color-coded project calendar. The system categorized assignments by project type and duration, enabling team members to quickly identify their tasks at a glance. Her innovative approach improved team productivity so significantly that her manager adopted it as a standard practice for the organization’s project management process.

Amanda discovered CNM through Meetup and was immediately impressed by how robust and informative the site was. She started her journey with CNM by attending several webinars on networking, interview preparation and marketing herself. She also participated in two Job Search groups gaining valuable insight into where to go next in her job search journey. Over time, Amanda built connections with other volunteers at CNM and was offered a role as Public Relations and Communications Coordinator under the director of communications.

In this role, Amanda has used her writing skills to create her first blog post and continues to regularly write content for CNM. Additionally, she also used her project coordinator skills to assist the director of communications to create a communications plan for the coming year.
